When Jacob was 15 months old, we started the process to adopt again. We wanted a girl to complete (yes, we thought we were done with two, never say never!) our family. We submitted our paperwork to adopt through Commonwealth again through the same orphanage. We knew Sara's wait would be a longer one, and it was...17 months from the time our dossier was in Colombia until we got "the call."
Our daughter, Sara (her birthname) was born on 9/14/04 at a healthy 7+ pounds. She was just 8 weeks old when we got her referral call, and 10 weeks old when she was placed into our arms on 11/22/04. We added Rose to her name, as a name we both love, and a middle name she shares with her Grandma Newman.
Jacob accompanied us on this trip to Colombia and it was a wonderful trip. Sara, still being very new, was happy sleeping and eating. The ladies at the orphanage remembered Jake and enjoyed seeing him again.
Sara is now 3 and a half and is a delightful, funny, independent child. She is very dramatic and makes us laugh often. She can be fiercely strong-willed one moment, and full of love, hugs and kisses the next. Sara might be a bit annoyed with a new sister, but for now, she's very excited. We love you Sara!

What a pair of precious little ones you have. :)
Michelle....Jake and Sara are just adorable! They are going to be great older siblings to the new baby!
Hope you had fun shopping today! :)
Hi. I just found your blog and had to leave a comment about how absolutely gorgeous your children are! What dolls!
Your children are just beautiful! We were really interested in adopting from Colombia before deciding to adopt domestically (our son Aidan is almost 5 now). It sounds like a great program! We also have a 21-month-old daughter from Taiwan (also from the foster care program, through JOH). Nice to meet you, and hope your referral comes soon!
Hi Michelle,
Your children are just beautiful-I feel privileged to be able to follow along on your new journey to another daughter-and may it be shorter than they expect!
Hugs
Chris
