Sara's Preschool Party

It's almost the end of the school year and that means field trips and parties galore. Tonight was Sara's preschool party and it's becoming a sort of a tradition for our family. This is the fourth year we've attended this party (two years of preschool for Jake and two for Sara). We absolutely ADORE the preschool teacher and I joke with her that we adopted again so that we could have her as our kid's teacher one more time. :)

At the party, the kids do a bit of a performance for the parents/families and it's so cute to watch. Here's one pic of our little ham.

Tessa Grows!

I just got updated measurements on our little girl.

On 4/25 (just shy of 4 months old) she weighed 13 lbs and was 22 inches long.

So, I'm surfing ebay looking for Robeez tonight (the shoe I totally fell in love with for my first two kids) and stumbled across these BEAUTIES from Jack and Lily. I've been slightly (OK, totally) obsessed with ladybugs since we started this adoption. Puttin' these on my "to buy" list!

Toothless

Jake lost one of his front teeth today! It's been loose for a very long time and he finally took matters into his own hands (mom and dad are way too squeamish to help) and pulled it out himself! :) He looks so different now!

Blessings From Ethiopia

Today, my good friend Lori found out that the court hearing in Ethiopia was successful and her five year old "B" is officially hers!!! YAY!!

Sigh...I'm in LOVE

May updates are in! Tessa is getting so BIG! I love how her little cheeks are filling out. She looks healthy and happy. And it was such a delight to see her wearing one of the outfits we sent in our first care package. It's a 0-3 months, and she's 4 months old, so she's a peanut. :) And the HAIR! Gotta love her mini-mohawk! Stylin' baby! LOVE our girl...we need her home.

It's been 16 days since our court hearing, and the average from court hearing to civil ruling is 33 days (based on past cases that I'm aware of from our yahoo group). We'd love to be "average," so please keep Tessa in your prayers for a quick civil ruling. After civil ruling, it'll be 1-2 months until final ruling, then we can go get her.

Sweet Sleeping Girl

Today we had a playdate at a friend's house, and after we got home Sara curled up on the couch and crashed. So NOT like her. It was sweet, I think she must be fighting a cold or just plain worn out.

Lucky Momma...

Here's the first (kinda) picture with my three (kinda) kiddos. Today, on Mother's Day, I feel especially blessed to have been given the opportunity to take part in the upbringing of these three beautiful children.

This morning we went to mass and I felt very emotional during the service. All that has been given me...all I have been entrusted with. After mass, we lit three candles, one for each of the kids birthmom's (afterall, the kids have two mom's to be thankful for today) and one for Tessa, that she be healthy, well-cared for, and come home soon.

God bless all the mother's today. A special thank you to MY mom for always being there for me, for always loving me, even when I was unloveable. I love you mom.

And hugs to all the mom's-to-be, the mom's in waiting who desperately want to hold their children in their arms. I know how it feels to have the ache of empty arms. You're in my thoughts and prayers today.

An Entire Decade

Ten years ago on this date I was lucky enough to marry my best friend. We have had 10 years of wedded bliss. :) Happy Anniversary honey! :)
